Several stories of scaffolding near a building in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood collapsed on some vehicles Friday afternoon, the Boston Fire Department said.

At 11 a.m., fire companies started working at the corner of Beacon Street and Exeter Street after four stories of scaffolding fell in the street and on some vehicles, the department wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Construction scaffolding are used to support work crews and material during construction.

According to photos uploaded to X by the Boston Fire Department, a blue Jeep is one of the vehicles that were hit by the fallen construction material.
